What Is Revelation Knowledge? Understanding God’s Truth in Your Heart

What is Revelation Knowledge?

Revelation knowledge

Revelation knowledge is more than information—it’s God’s truth revealed in your heart—it is to see with the eyes of your heart.

Unlike head knowledge, revelation knowledge comes through intimacy with Him.

It transforms belief into conviction, opens the door to freedom, and leads to the abundant life Jesus promised. When truth becomes revelation, it changes how we live, think, and walk in our inheritance as sons of God.

The following quote highlights the role of our belief system.

“Right living is a result of right believing.”
Joseph Prince

Right living is the way we are called to live in Christ—the life He paid for us to enjoy. It means walking in the fullness of our sonship, aligned with what God says about us. Anything outside of that truth is a lie, and deception keeps us from experiencing the fullness of God in Christ.

Our hearts and lives are shaped by what we believe.

“When virtue is stored within, the hearts of good, upright people will produce good fruit. But when evil is hidden within, those who are evil will produce evil fruit. Matthew 12:35 TPT

Wrong believing keeps us from fully receiving our inheritance in Christ as sons of God.

“… as He is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17

There are different levels of knowledge that shape what we believe, but ultimately it is revelation knowledge that unlocks the zoe life—the God-kind of life.

“… I have come that they may have life (zoe), and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV

“Zoe” means the following:

  • of the absolute fullness of life
  • life real and genuine
  • life in its most complete form
  • a life active and vigorous, devoted to God,
  • blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ

It is the truth we truly know that makes us free and leads us into victorious sonship in every area of life.

“And you shall know (ginosko) the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 NKJV

Ginosko: A Greek word meaning to know intimately, to become acquainted with, to understand deeply, to learn to know, get knowledge of, perceive, feel—truth that penetrates the heart and transforms life.

“The road the righteous travel is like the sunrise, getting brighter and brighter until daylight come.” Provers 4:18 GNT

“I heard of You (only) by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You.” Job 42:5 AMP

The Three Levels of Revelation Knowledge

We can receive revelation knowledge directly from the Lord by spending time in His presence and engaging Him in the realms of His Kingdom. We may also receive it through what we learn intellectually and experientially. Yet the ultimate goal is not simply to collect knowledge, but to encounter God in a face-to-face, intimate relationship where truth penetrates the heart and brings transformation.

Intellectual knowledge must reach our hearts if it is to bring real change. Only when truth settles in the heart does it lead to a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Word of God—Jesus Himself—is the doorway to truly experiencing God.

“IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isa. 9:6.] He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.” John 1:1-4 AMPC

Our minds must be renewed by the truth of God’s Word, for it is this renewal that opens our hearts to receive from Him.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” — 3 John 1:2 NKJV

Christ-centered Wellness
Once something becomes a revelation, the result will be evident in your life. When your soul prospers, it begins to manifest.

We must remember that Truth is not simply knowledge—it is a person, the person of Jesus Christ.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” — John 14:6 NKJV

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14.

“And we know that the Son of God has made our understanding come alive so that we can know by experience the One who is true. And we are in him who is true, God’s Son, Jesus Christ – the true and eternal life!” 1 John 5:20 TPT

#1 Intellectual Knowledge: Learning with the Mind

Intellectual knowledge is what we gain through reading or hearing—the accumulation of academic or informational learning. This is entry-level knowledge, and most of what our minds process operates at this level. Yet the ultimate goal is for truth to move beyond the intellect and penetrate the heart, where it becomes revelation knowledge that brings transformation.

#2 Experiential Knowledge: Applying Truth in Life

Experiential knowledge serves as the bridge to revelation knowledge. Through experience—whether a personal encounter with God or the application of His truth—we receive revelation. When truth is applied, it has time to penetrate our hearts, because we have aligned ourselves with what God has spoken.

#3 Revelation Knowledge: God's Truth Revealed in the Heart

I am going to use the area of health to explain what happens when truth becomes revelation knowledge, though this principle applies to every area of wellness—finances, relationships, and more.

To walk in divine health requires revelation knowledge. You must know, without a doubt, that because of the finished work of the cross, health has already been secured for you. It is simply a matter of stepping into it. When this truth becomes revelation, you will no longer accept sickness. Instead, you will stand firmly on the Word of God, knowing that health and healing are already settled and are your rightful inheritance.

“He himself carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we would be dead to sin and live for righteousness. Our instant healing flowed from his wounding.” — 1 Peter 2:24 TPT

“We were made alive unto righteousness; we were healed by the blows he took in his body.” — 1 Peter 2:24 Mirror Bible

Healing has already taken place. Through revelation knowledge, we take hold of our inheritance as the healed. The enemy has no right to your body unless you allow it through wrong believing.

“Then He touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you.’” — Matthew 9:29 NKJV

When truth becomes revelation knowledge, you live by it.

God’s promise is:

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord. — Isaiah 54:17 NKJV

How Does Truth Become Revelation Knowledge?

Revelation knowledge is received through intentional pursuit of God. It comes as we:

  • Meditate on Scripture—especially in the area where we need victory
  • Ask the Father for revelation
  • Pray consistently in tongues
  • Speak and declare the Word of God
  • Spend time in His presence
  • Engage Him in the heavenlies
  • Praise and worship Him
  • Fast with the purpose of making our hearts more receptive to the Holy Spirit
  • Enter into God’s rest

Rest is one of the most important aspects of receiving revelation knowledge. The more we rest, the more our hearts are able to receive. Yet even resting in God must itself become a personal revelation if we are to walk in the fullness of it.

Our minds function best when we are at rest. Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28 is: “Come unto Me … and I will give you rest.”

“Be still, and know that I am God …” — Psalm 46:10 NKJV

There is a direct correlation between a restful heart and health.

A heart at rest strengthens our immune system. It not only helps us to receive revelation but also supports the health of our bodies.

For many years, the saying was that a healthy body houses a healthy mind. But in reality, it is the other way around.

A healthy spirit and soul lead to a healthy body.

Living a healthy lifestyle—through eating well or exercising regularly—can complement the health of our bodies, but it does not guarantee it. True health goes deeper than following the right program; it flows from the wholeness of spirit, soul, and body aligned with God.

Application of Revelation Knowledge

As sons of God, revelation knowledge is an important aspect to establish in our lives.

If we want to step into the fullness of our sonship, take hold of our inheritance in Christ and walk in everything God wants us to have, we have to live from revelation knowledge.

”Listen carefully, my dear child, to everything that I teach you, and pay attention to all that I have to say. Fill your thoughts with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. Then, as you unwrap my words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being. So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:20-23 TPT

Revelation knowledge is a harvest. It is a spiritual component that can radically change the way we take hold of everything God has for us.

We are sons of God and live from a different Kingdom. God has given us specific principles to show us how to walk in health and everything else He has for us.

“To be immersed in Christ is to be fully clothed with him. He is your brand new wardrobe confirming your sonship.” Galatians 3:26 Mirror Bible

”He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” Psalms 107:20 NKJV

The Word of God is a seed, and health and healing are the harvest—the fruit of revelation knowledge. It is through the Word that healing becomes ours once it penetrates the heart as revelation.

Health is our birthright, our inheritance as sons of God. Sickness was dealt with at the cross. Revelation knowledge is what makes divine health a living reality in our lives—it shifts our belief system to align with what God says is rightfully ours.

Remember, we are already righteous because of the finished work of the cross:

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV

Hearing the truth about a subject is only the beginning of the journey. God desires that we experience the reality of His Kingdom, not merely hear about it.

Hearing is the entry point that paves the way to revelation. When truth is engraved on the tablet of our hearts, it prepares us to receive full revelation.

This is why it is crucial to develop our spiritual senses—to move beyond hearing into experiencing, and from experiencing into living by revelation.

Hearing God’s voice and experiencing Him personally will cause us to receive the revelation we need in any specific area. This includes health and wholeness. They walk together because our bodies responds to the wholeness of our hearts.

“But solid food is for the mature, whose spiritual senses perceive heavenly matters. And they have been adequately trained by what they’ve experienced to emerge with understanding of the difference between what is truly excellent and what is evil and harmful.” Hebrews 5:14 TPT

To prosper and be in health starts on the inside. If our hearts are whole, our immune systems which is the army of the body, will mirror it and be strong. Our circumstances and health are influenced by the wholeness of our hearts.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” III John 1:2 NKJV

Living from our position of sonship as a kings, priests, and prophetsin the order of Melchizedek is based upon revelation knowledge. It connects us with the heart of God.

There has been a shift in the spirit. God wants us to move towards a face-to-face relationship with Him. To engage Him in the heavenlies because He wants to show us the things we need to know to live as victorious sons in every area of our lives.

“Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this …”

Revelation 4:1 NKJV

“Then suddenly, after I wrote down these messages, I saw a portal open into the heavenly realm, and the same trumpet-voice I heard speaking with me at the beginning said, “Ascend into this realm! I want to reveal to you what must happen after this.” Instantly I was taken into the spirit realm, and behold—I saw a heavenly throne being set in place and someone seated upon it.”

Revelation 4:1-2 TPT

Once you see something with the eyes of your heart, it is easy to walk in it.

The world is waiting for the revealing of the sons because we are to bring restoration in the areas we are called to.

“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” Romans 8:19 NKJV

Going back to Job 42:5, mentioned earlier, we can see how he moved from hearing God to experiencing Him.

Job had a personal revelation of God, “but now my [spiritual] eyes see You.”

Practical Pathways for Scripture to Become Revelation Knowledge

  • By hearing Scripture
  • By reading Scripture
  • By studying Scripture
  • By memorising Scripture
  • By meditating on Scripture
  • By engaging God
  • Through journaling

”And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19 AMPC

There is also a direct correlation between intimacy with God and revelation. The more intimacy, the more revelation you will receive and the deeper you will know. When you have a deep intimate relationship with God, the intellectual knowledge you heard has the potential to become revelation knowledge. Meditation cultivates intimacy.

Another important aspect of receiving revelation knowledge is consistent praying in tongues. In actual fact, this is crucial if you want to walk in the supernatural and receive revelation knowledge.

”While speaking in tongues is primarily for personal edification, prophetic instruction inspires the church.” I Corinthians 14:4 Mirror Bible

By praying in tongues you edify yourself. This prepares your heart to receive revelation because you become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

The Word says: “through all prayer and supplication praying at ALL TIMES IN THE SPIRIT …” Ephesians 6:18 YLT98.

Praying in tongues is your lifeline. This is life in the Spirit and how one taps into the New Covenant way of praying, absolutely relying on the Spirit.

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26 NKJV

Smith Wigglesworth didn’t minister healing to people before spending time praying in tongues. He relied on the Spirit for wisdom before ministering to people. He related most of his success in ministry back to praying a lot in tongues.

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,” Jude 1:20 NKJV

To walk in victory in every area of life depends on revelation knowledge. To be more specific; it lies in having a revelation of Jesus. Knowing what He accomplished on your behalf and who you are in Him and who He is in you.

“For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Galatians 1:12 NKJV

“… it pleased him to reveal his Son to me …” Galatians 1:15 NLT

“… to reveal His Son in me …” Galatians 1:16 NKJV

“for in Him we live and move and have our being …” Acts 17:28 NKJV

The Parable of the Sower Explains the Process of Revelation Knowledge

”Let me explain: The farmer sows the message of the kingdom. What falls on the beaten path represents those who hear the message, but immediately Satan appears and snatches it from their hearts. And what is sown on gravel represents those who hear the message and receive it joyfully, but because their hearts fail to sink a deep root, they don’t endure for long. For when trouble or persecution comes on account of the message, they immediately wilt and fall away.

“And what is sown among thorns represents those who hear the message, but they allow the cares of this life and the seduction of wealth and the desires for other things to crowd out and choke the message so that it produces nothing. But what is sown on good soil represents those who open their hearts to receive the message and their lives bear good fruit—some yield a harvest of thirty, sixty, even a hundredfold!”” Mark 4:14-20 TPT

The Word of God is a Seed

A key to Divine health and healing is to keep sowing the seed of the Word into our hearta – the harvest will come. Like seeds in the natural realm, there are various durations for different seeds to produce a harvest.

Some harvests are quick and some take a bit longer. It is the same in the spiritual realm.

The seed of the Word must germinate in our hearts before the result of health will manifest. We need mustard seed faith. This is not small faith. It is faith that grows – faith that relies on the faith of Jesus.

Jesus said, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it? It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of all garden plants: it grows long branches, and birds can make nests in its shade.” Mark 4:30-31

We belong to a different Kingdom, and the rules of the worldly kingdom do not apply to us.

If we accept bad reports about sickness and disease—allowing fear, doubt, and unbelief to enter our hearts—we will experience worldly results. Our health will be shaped by those reports.

But as sons of God, we are called to rule and reign over sickness.

The enemy uses the systems of this world to distract us, drawing our attention away from Christ and from our inheritance of health in Him.

Where We Focus Our Attention Determines The Outcome

Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith [your trust and confidence in My power and My ability to heal] it will be done to you.”” Matthew 9:29 AMP

To receive a harvest of health we need to consistently sow the seed of the Word about God’s way to health into our hearts.

Meditating on Scripture allows it time to take root and germinate in your heart, so that it can produce a harvest. As you sow the seed of God’s Word day and night, it works within you, bringing forth revelation and transformation.

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 NLT

Some harvests can be immediate. They work according to the same principle of sowing and reaping, but in the world of the Spirit, sowing and reaping can happen in an instant.

Like a farmer knows the seed he has sown will produce a crop, we should know that the seeds of God’s Word sown into our hearts will produce life and health.

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands! Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up.

These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.” Isaiah 55:10-13 NLT

I connected revelation knowledge in this writing to health and healing, but this applies to every area of life.

My prayer for you today

“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” Ephesians 1:17-18 NKJV

”… Meditate on it day and night …”
