Why is revelation knowledge so important to the sons of God and to walking in Christ-centered wellness?
Before the why can be answered, we need to understand what revelation knowledge is.
What is revelation knowledge?

Revelation knowledge is about knowing the truth of God in your heart—seeing with the eyes of your heart.
It’s when you know that you know something is true because it has become a personal revelation. It’s something revealed to you through your relationship with God, and it becomes a core part of your belief system.
The following quote highlights the role of our belief system.
“Right living is a result of right believing.”
Right living refers to the way we are called to live in Christ, the life He paid for us to have. It is about living in the fullness of our sonship, aligned with what God says about us. Everything outside of that is a lie which means there is deception in the area where the fullness of God in Christ isn’t experienced.
Our hearts are influenced by what we believe.
“When virtue is stored within, the hearts of good, upright people will produce good fruit. But when evil is hidden within, those who are evil will produce evil fruit. Matthew 12:35 TPT
It is wrong believing that prevents us from taking ownership of our inheritance in Christ as the sons of God.
“… as He is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17
There are different levels of knowledge that influence what we believe, but at the end of the day, it is revelation knowledge that brings about the “zoe” life – “the God-kind of life.”
“… I have come that they may have life (zoe), and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV
“Zoe” means the following:
- of the absolute fullness of life
- life real and genuine
- life in its most complete form
- a life active and vigorous, devoted to God,
- blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ
It is the truth that we know that will make us free and lead us into victorious sonship in every area of our lives.
“And you shall know (ginosko) the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 NKJV
“Ginosko”: The Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse between a man and a woman, to become acquainted with, to know, to learn to know, come to know, get knowledge of, perceive, feel, to understand.
“The road the righteous travel is like the sunrise, getting brighter and brighter until daylight come.” Provers 4:18 GNT
“I heard of You (only) by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You.” Job 42:5 AMP
The 3 levels of revelation knowledge
We can receive revelation knowledge directly from the Lord by spending time in His presence and engaging Him in the realms of the Kingdom. Or we can receive it through what we learn intellectually and experientially. The goal is to experience God in a face-to-face and intimate relationship not to gather intellectual knowledge only.
Intellectual knowledge has to penetrate our hearts to bring about change. It is only when truth reaches our hearts that it leads to a deeper and more intimate relationship with the Trinity.
The Word of God (which is Jesus) is the doorway to experiencing God.
“IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isa. 9:6.] He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.” John 1:1-4 AMPC
Our minds need to be renewed to the truth of the Word which opens our hearts to receive from God.
“prosper in all things and be in health as your soul prospers.” 3 John NKJV.

We need to remember that Truth is a person, the person of Jesus. Truth is not simply knowledge.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 NKJV
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14.
“And we know that the Son of God has made our understanding come alive so that we can know by experience the One who is true. And we are in him who is true, God’s Son, Jesus Christ – the true and eternal life!” 1 John 5:20 TPT
#1 Intellectual/Head Knowledge
Intellectual knowledge is the knowledge received through what we read or hear – the gaining of academic knowledge. This is entry-level knowledge. Most of the knowledge our brains process is on this level. The ultimate is to get it to the revelation level.
#2 Experiential Knowledge
Experiential knowledge is the bridge to revelation knowledge. It is through experience that we receive revelation. This could be because of a personal encounter with God or by applying truth. Truth applied gets time to penetrate our hearts because we aligned to what God said.
#3 Revelation Knowledge
I am going to use the area of health to explain what happens when something becomes revelation knowledge, but this principle applies to all areas of wellness— finances, relationships, and more.
To walk in Divine health requires revelation knowledge. You need to know, without a doubt, that because of the finished work of the cross, health has already been secured for you. It’s simply a matter of stepping into it. When this becomes a revelation, you won’t accept sickness. You will stand on the Word of God, knowing that health and healing are already settled and are your rightful inheritance.
“He himself carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we would be dead to sin and live for righteousness. Our instant healing flowed from his wounding.” 1 Peter 2:24 TPT
“we were made alive unto righteousness; we were healed by the blows he took in his body.” 1 Peter 2:24 Mirror Bible
Healing has already taken place. Through revelation knowledge, we take hold of our inheritance as the healed. The enemy no longer has the right to your body unless you allow it through wrong believing.
”Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”” Matthew 9:29 NKJV
When something becomes revelation knowledge, you live by it.
God’s promise is: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 NKJV
How does something become revelation knowledge?
- By meditating on Scripture—specifically on the area where you need victory.
- Asking the Father for revelation
- Through consistent praying in tongues
- Speaking/declaring the Scripture
- Spending time in God’s presence
- Engaging God in the heavenlies
- Praising and worshipping God
- Fasting with the purpose to make your heart more receptive to the Holy Spirit
- Entering God’s rest
Rest is one of the most important things when it comes to receiving revelation knowledge.
The more we rest, the more our hearts are able to receive revelation. But even resting in God needs to become a personal revelation if we want to walk in the fullness of it.
Our minds function at best when we are at rest. Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28 is “Come unto me … and I will give you rest”.
“Be still, and know that I am God ..” Psalms 46:10 NKJV
There is a direct correlation between a restful heart and health.
As mentioned in my newsletter series; “Building a Strong Immune System (Spirit, Soul & Body), a heart at rest strengthens our immune system. It not only helps us to receive revelation but also supports the health of our bodies.
For many years the saying was that a healthy body houses a healthy mind. But it became clear that it actually is the other way around.
A healthy spirit and soul lead to a healthy body.
Living a healthy lifestyle by following a healthy eating plan or exercising regularly only compliments health in our bodies. it doesn’t guarantee health. There is far more to health than only following the right program.
Application of revelation knowledge
As sons of God, revelation knowledge is an important aspect to establish in our lives.
If we want to step into the fullness of our sonship, take hold of our inheritance in Christ and walk in everything God wants us to have, we have to live from revelation knowledge.
”Listen carefully, my dear child, to everything that I teach you, and pay attention to all that I have to say. Fill your thoughts with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. Then, as you unwrap my words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being. So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:20-23 TPT
Revelation knowledge is a harvest. It is a spiritual component that can radically change the way we take hold of everything God has for us.
We are sons of God and live from a different Kingdom. God has given us specific principles to show us how to walk in health and everything else He has for us.
“To be immersed in Christ is to be fully clothed with him. He is your brand new wardrobe confirming your sonship.” Galatians 3:26 Mirror Bible
”He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” Psalms 107:20 NKJV
The Word of God is a seed – health and healing are the harvest (the result of revelation knowledge). It is through the Word of God that we receive healing once it becomes a revelation.
Health is our birthright, our inheritance as sons of God. Sickness has been dealt with at the cross. Revelation knowledge is how divine health becomes part of our lives – where we step into this birthright to be strong and healthy. It moves our belief system to line up with what God says is rightfully ours.
Remember we are already righteous because of the finished work of the cross.
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
Hearing the truth about a subject is only the beginning of the journey. God wants us to experience the reality of His Kingdom, not only hear about it.
Hearing is the entry point that paves the way to revelation. Engraving the truth we heard, onto the tablet of our hearts prepares our hearts to receive a full revelation.
This is why it is crucial to develop our spiritual senses. Hearing God’s voice and experiencing Him personally will cause us to receive the revelation we need in any specific area. This includes health and wholeness. They walk together because our bodies responds to the wholeness of our hearts.
“But solid food is for the mature, whose spiritual senses perceive heavenly matters. And they have been adequately trained by what they’ve experienced to emerge with understanding of the difference between what is truly excellent and what is evil and harmful.” Hebrews 5:14 TPT
To prosper and be in health starts on the inside. If our hearts are whole, our immune systems which is the army of the body, will mirror it and be strong. Our circumstances and health are influenced by the wholeness of our hearts.
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” III John 1:2 NKJV
Living from our position of sonship as a kings, priests, and prophetsin the order of Melchizedek is based upon revelation knowledge. It connects us with the heart of God.
There has been a shift in the spirit. God wants us to move towards a face-to-face relationship with Him. To engage Him in the heavenlies because He wants to show us the things we need to know to live as victorious sons in every area of our lives.

“Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this …”
Revelation 4:1 NKJV
“Then suddenly, after I wrote down these messages, I saw a portal open into the heavenly realm, and the same trumpet-voice I heard speaking with me at the beginning said, “Ascend into this realm! I want to reveal to you what must happen after this.” Instantly I was taken into the spirit realm, and behold—I saw a heavenly throne being set in place and someone seated upon it.”
Revelation 4:1-2 TPT
Once you see something with the eyes of your heart, it is easy to walk in it.
The world is waiting for the revealing of the sons because we are to bring restoration in the areas we are called to.
“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” Romans 8:19 NKJV
Going back to Job 42:5, mentioned earlier, we can see how he moved from hearing God to experiencing Him.
Job had a personal revelation of God, “but now my [spiritual] eyes see You.”
The following are ways in which the Word can become a personal revelation
- By hearing the Word
- By reading the Word
- By studying the Word
- By memorising the Word
- By meditating on the Word
- By engaging God
- Through journaling
”And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19 AMPC
There is also a direct correlation between intimacy with God and revelation. The more intimacy, the more revelation you will receive and the deeper you will know. When you have a deep intimate relationship with God, the intellectual knowledge you heard has the potential to become revelation knowledge. Meditation cultivates intimacy.
Another important aspect of receiving revelation knowledge is consistent praying in tongues. In actual fact, this is crucial if you want to walk in the supernatural and receive revelation knowledge.
”While speaking in tongues is primarily for personal edification, prophetic instruction inspires the church.” I Corinthians 14:4 Mirror Bible
By praying in tongues you edify yourself. This prepares your heart to receive revelation because you become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
The Word says: “through all prayer and supplication praying at ALL TIMES IN THE SPIRIT …” Ephesians 6:18 YLT98.
Praying in tongues is your lifeline. This is life in the Spirit and how one taps into the New Covenant way of praying, absolutely relying on the Spirit.
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26 NKJV
Smith Wigglesworth didn’t minister healing to people before spending time praying in tongues. He relied on the Spirit for wisdom before ministering to people. He related most of his success in ministry back to praying a lot in tongues.
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,” Jude 1:20 NKJV
To walk in victory in every area of life depends on revelation knowledge. To be more specific; it lies in having a revelation of Jesus. Knowing what He accomplished on your behalf and who you are in Him and who He is in you.
“For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Galatians 1:12 NKJV
“… it pleased him to reveal his Son to me …” Galatians 1:15 NLT
“… to reveal His Son in me …” Galatians 1:16 NKJV
“for in Him we live and move and have our being …” Acts 17:28 NKJV
The parable of the sower explains the process of revelation knowledge
”Let me explain: The farmer sows the message of the kingdom. What falls on the beaten path represents those who hear the message, but immediately Satan appears and snatches it from their hearts. And what is sown on gravel represents those who hear the message and receive it joyfully, but because their hearts fail to sink a deep root, they don’t endure for long. For when trouble or persecution comes on account of the message, they immediately wilt and fall away.
“And what is sown among thorns represents those who hear the message, but they allow the cares of this life and the seduction of wealth and the desires for other things to crowd out and choke the message so that it produces nothing. But what is sown on good soil represents those who open their hearts to receive the message and their lives bear good fruit—some yield a harvest of thirty, sixty, even a hundredfold!”” Mark 4:14-20 TPT
The Word of God is a Seed
A key to Divine health and healing is to keep sowing the seed of the Word into our hearta – the harvest will come. Like seeds in the natural realm, there are various durations for different seeds to produce a harvest.
Some harvests are quick and some take a bit longer. It is the same in the spiritual realm.
The seed of the Word must germinate in our hearts before the result of health will manifest. We need mustard seed faith. This is not small faith. It is faith that grows – faith that relies on the faith of Jesus.
Jesus said, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it? It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of all garden plants: it grows long branches, and birds can make nests in its shade.” Mark 4:30-31

We are from a different Kingdom. The rules of the worldly kingdom don’t apply to us.
If we accept bad reports about sickness and disease by allowing fear, doubt, and unbelief to enter our hearts – we will have worldly results. Our health will be shaped by those reports.
We are “sons of God”, called to rule and reign over sickness.
The enemy uses the worldly systems to distract us, to draw our attention away from Christ and our inheritance of health in Him.
Where we focus our attention determines the outcome
“Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith [your trust and confidence in My power and My ability to heal] it will be done to you.”” Matthew 9:29 AMP
To receive a harvest of health we need to consistently sow the seed of the Word about God’s way to health into our hearts.
Meditating on God’s Word is a way to give it time to germinate in your heart so that it can produce a harvest. Allow the seed of God’s Word to work in you by sowing it day and night.
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 NLT
Some harvests can be immediate. They work according to the same principle of sowing and reaping, but in the world of the Spirit, sowing and reaping can happen in an instant.
Like a farmer knows the seed he has sown will produce a crop, we should know that the seeds of God’s Word sown into our hearts will produce life and health.
“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands! Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up.
These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.” Isaiah 55:10-13 NLT
I connected revelation knowledge in this writing to health and healing, but this applies to every area of life.
My prayer for you today
“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” Ephesians 1:17-18 NKJV
”… Meditate on it day and night …”
