Just as Christ loves us!

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2
By following God’s example and imitating Him as best we can with the hearts of children ready to learn and be guided, walk with Him in love and adoration all your days. As Christ loved us and died for us so we may be saved. This was a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
In the days before Christs death, the people were required to make animal sacrifices to atone for their sins. It wasn’t so much the aroma that pleased the Lord, but rather their act of atonement. Christ died for us and with his death so those animal sacrifices were no longer needed as Christ has paid the price for our sins.
