Take refuge in Abba Father!
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8
To know that God is good, you have to have a relationship with Him. It is the same with a human relationship. You have to try out and cultivate the relationship with the other person. To really get to know Him, you’ve got to cultivate a relationship with Him. You have to get to know Him. How do you get to know our Father? You can pray, you can read your Bible and meditate on Scripture, you can listen to teachings on YouTube or a Podcast, you can be in fellowship with others and cultivate a relationship with God together. You will find out each and every time that God is good.
The beauty of getting to know God, the beauty of taking refuge in Him, is you will realise that you can trust Him 100%. God is always dependable and always available to you. He loves you the same today and the same every day. God is always the same. He’s faithful, and as you get to know Him, you begin to trust Him more.
Similarly, the first few pages of a book sets the stage for what is to come. The introduction provides the theme of the story that will continue to reveal itself throughout the book – the goodness of the story begins to flow. Throughout scripture, we see the same thing – a story and a reminder of things that were and how God showed His goodness to His people.
God is Good All the Time! All the Time God is Good!
Psalm 34:8 says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” When you have had the fullness of God, you won’t desire anything else. In Genesis, Eve tasted the forbidden fruit and gained the knowledge of good and evil. In her pursuit, she tasted a “worldly” goodness that did not satisfy her because it wasn’t “the good” that God intended for her.
The world says: “after we eat, we go hungry once again”. Our stomachs go empty and they begin to gurgle and grumble. The same is true for our spiritual lives – if we are not in constant relationship with the Father, our spirits will hunger for more.
As you get to know God, you begin to realize how good He is!
